When dealing with exercises on clothing
or shopping, it is a good idea to expose learners to what they can find in the
real world. And here you have a good sample of four different types of
necklines most people get to wear or buy when it comes to preferences.
To use these four types in context, it
is a good idea to have students discuss with their peers the type of necklines
they like.
1) When
you buy a sweater, do you like to get a crew neck or a turtleneck sweater?
2) How
many t-shirts do you have? Are most of them V-neck or scoop neck?
3) What
type of neckline is more comfortable for you?
4) What
do you think about V-neck sweaters? Do you like them?
Another
possibility is to have learners work on a neckline recognition exercise. Have
them find a partner who …
a) … is
wearing a crew neck t-shirt
b) … is
wearing a V-neck blouse.
c) … is
wearing a scoop neck sweater
d) … is
wearing a turtleneck blouse.
